Planning Permission

The planning system provides society with a way of controlling how we use land, what we build and where we build it.

You do not always need planning permission. It is not required, generally speaking, for changes to the inside of buildings, or for small alterations to the outside. For further information most Councils will provide, free of charge, planning and regulation booklets, and of course, we are always on hand to give advice.

If planning permission is required, or if you and your architect/designer are unsure, always check with the local planning authorities early on, thus ensuring plenty of time for any possible issues to be ironed out before work has to commence.

Keep in mind that if work requiring permission were carried out without it, in a worst case scenario, the work may have to undone to put the building back as it was.
